Locality: The SOREA Hrebienok mountain hotel lies in the mountain centre of Hrebienok, among the marvelous scenery of the High Tatras, on the south-eastern slope of the Slavkovský peak. It is connected to the oldest Tatras settlement - Starý Smokovec – by a railed cable-car which is one of the most well-known attractions of the Tatras. The hotel’s history dates back to the end of the 18th century, when a spa was built on the original ground. The favourable effects of the bio-climatic complex and beneficial meteorological conditions of this climate even today have a recognized healing effect. Indeed, the climate throughout the entire High Tatras is healthful, particularly for diseases of the respiratory tract and in particular bronchial disorders.

Description of vicinity: In summer months Hrebienok is a favourite starting point for demanding and less-demanding high-mountain tours, plus trips to Studenovodský waterfall, to Veľká a Malá Studená valley, to Slavkovský peak, to mountain chalets (Zamkovského, Sliezsky dom, Téryho, Zbojnícka), over the Tatras magistral to Skalnaté pleso. Cycle-tourism enthusiasts may enjoy the undemanding cycle-tour from Starý Smokovec to Hrebienok, running alongside a sledding route. Throughout the winter season, the Hrebienok ski centre, the centre of which is the SOREA Hrebienok mountain hotel, is one of the most sought-after centres of the High Tatras. The ski area is composed of two parts, Horná lúka with a camber of 200 m is designed for the more talented skier, while Dolná lúka is also suitable for children and beginners. In total in the centre are 4 ski-lifts and 4 ski-slopes with a total length of 1552 m. Lovers of winter sports will also enjoy the lit Hrebienok ? Starý Smokovec sledding and sleighing track, the children?s skiing school, a ski and sledge rental. Hrebienok is also known as a point of departure for ski alpinism tours to the area of Veľká a Malá Studená valley.
