Description:
Hotel Bechyně, hotels and pensions in city Bechyně:
This three star hotel is located in the very centre of the spa town of Bechyně, 20 km to the south of Tábor. The town, with its renaissance chateau, spreads out within its beautiful and unspoilt natural setting around the river Lužnice.
The history of this building dates back to the period of the renaissance. The building has undergone several adjustments, from a baroque conversion to several reconstructions during the course of the twentieth century. The last of these took place in 1998, and further adjustments are planned also during this century.
Before World War I the building housed the Paar brewery, which during the war served as a store for Protivín brewery. During the period of the First Czechoslovak Republic the pub was owned by the Svoboda family from Soběslav, from whom it was confiscated during nationalisation. For many decades the pub was taken over by the state-owned company RAJ, which ran the pub until 1991, when it was returned to the Svoboda family in the restitution proceedings. In 1994 it was then purchased by Josef Šťáva, who returned the “Estate pub” back to the Bechyně estate. The building served as an inn at the beginning of the 20th century and then as a hotel. An increase of the hotel capacity and the establishment of a conference hall are further adjustments planned for the Hotel Bechyně.
The modern furnished hotel offers a total of 56 beds and 29 camp beds in 25 twin rooms, two single rooms and two apartments (one of these has facilities for the physically handicapped).
From 2009 the hotel will be extended with further rooms to a capacity of up to 100 beds.
The rooms are equipped with their own bathroom and toilet, television with satellite reception, mini-bar, telephone and Wi-Fi wireless internet connection in every room as well as in the common areas of the hotel.
The hotel houses the pleasant and newly furnished Panská restaurant, with a sunny terrace, separate bar and salon, all decorated in a historically harmonised postal spirit according to the tradition of the postal right of the Paar family. The 24-hour reception can order hairdressing services within the hotel, as well as golfing school and many other services.
The hotel also prepares a range of residential packages, company events, weddings and other social events.
