The town lies in the altitude of 272 m above the see level, surrounded by the hills Machnáč, Klepáč and Grófovec. It is 15 km north-east from Trenčín, 135 km north-east from Bratislava, 80 km south-west from Žilina, 140 km west from Banská Bystrica and 150 km east from Brno distant. Its benefit is an easy transportation access. 10 km from the town, there is the closest exit from the high-way D1 connecting Bratislava and Žilina. 5 km from the town, there is an important railway intersection Trenčianska Teplá connecting Bratislava and Žilina with Trenčianske Teplice. From the railway station Trenčianska Teplá the guests travel by a small transport-attraction - more than 90 years old small electric tramway. The spa-town has the direct bus-connection to some of the bigger cities including Bratislava, Košice, Banská Bystrica, Prague, Brno and Vienna. The closest airports are situated in Piešťany - 60 km far away, in Bratislava - 130 km far away and in Vienna Schwechat - 190 km far away from the town.

No medical consultation is necessary for thermal bath in the pools PII and PIII.
